Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mineral buildup and microbial growth.

  1. Daily: Refill with fresh, cool water. Do not let water sit for more than 24 hours.
  2. Weekly: Clean the water tank and base.
    • Unplug the unit and empty all water.
    • Mix a solution of 1 teaspoon white vinegar per gallon of water.
    • Use a soft cloth or brush to clean all interior surfaces. Do not submerge the base.
    • Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  3. Monthly: Deep clean the base and mist nozzle with a vinegar solution to remove scale.

WARNING! Always unplug the unit before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners, bleach, or detergents.

Filter Replacement

The wicking filter should be replaced every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness and usage.

  1. Turn off and unplug the humidifier.
  2. Remove the water tank from the base.
  3. Remove the old filter from the filter compartment in the base.
  4. Insert the new Honeywell replacement filter (Model HF-860) into the compartment.
  5. Reassemble the tank and base.
  6. Reset the filter indicator (if applicable) by pressing and holding the FILTER button for 3 seconds.

CAUTION! Do not operate the humidifier without a filter. Using a worn-out filter reduces efficiency and can cause mineral dust output.

Care & Storage

When not in use for extended periods, prepare the humidifier for storage.

  1. Unplug the unit and empty all water from the tank and base.
  2. Clean the tank, base, and filter compartment thoroughly as per weekly cleaning instructions. Allow all parts to air dry completely.
  3. Remove and discard the old filter. Do not store with a used filter installed.
  4. Reassemble the unit and store in its original box in a cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Never store the unit with water inside. Ensure it is completely dry to prevent mold or mildew.
