Specifications

Controls and Operation

Primary control is the Humidity Control Knob on the front or side of the unit.

Control Knob: Rotate clockwise from OFF to LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH mist output. The further the turn, the higher the humidity output.

Indicator Lights: Power Light (Green) indicates unit is on. Some models may have a "Check Filter" or "Empty" indicator.

Automatic Operation: The humidistat works with the knob setting to maintain a comfortable humidity level. The fan speed adjusts automatically. The unit will shut off completely when the tank is empty (Auto Shut-Off).

Manual Override: For constant output, set knob to HIGH. For quiet nighttime operation, set to LOW.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold and mineral buildup. Unplug the unit before any maintenance.

  1. Daily: Refill tank with fresh, cool water.
  2. Weekly: Empty any remaining water from the base. Wipe the tank interior and base with a soft, damp cloth.
  3. Bi-Weekly/Deep Clean: Mix 1 teaspoon of white vinegar with 1 gallon of water. Use this solution to rinse the tank and base. Scrub gently with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly 2-3 times with clean water to remove vinegar smell.
  4. Dry all parts completely before reassembly or storage.

WARNING! Never use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or detergents. Do not immerse the motor base in water.

Replacing the Filter

The demineralization filter should be replaced every 1-2 months, or more often in hard water areas.

  1. Unplug the humidifier and remove the water tank.
  2. Locate the filter compartment in the base.
  3. Remove the old filter and discard it.
  4. Take the new filter from its package and soak it in cool water for 15 minutes.
  5. Insert the soaked filter into the compartment, ensuring it is seated properly.
  6. Reassemble the unit and run for a few minutes to prime the new filter.

Note: Using the humidifier without a filter may result in white dust on surfaces. Use only genuine Honeywell HCM-1000 series replacement filters.

Storage Instructions

When not in use for extended periods (e.g., summer months), prepare the humidifier for storage.

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Empty and thoroughly clean the tank and base as per deep clean instructions.
  3. Remove and discard the old filter. Do not store a used, wet filter inside the unit.
  4. Allow all parts to air dry completely for 24-48 hours.
  5. Reassemble the dry unit and store in its original box in a cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Never store with water in the tank or base, as this can lead to mold and damage.
