Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold, mineral buildup, and ensures efficient operation.

Daily/Weekly: Wipe exterior with damp cloth. Check filter for mineral deposits.

Every 1-2 Weeks (or as needed):

  1. Unplug unit. Remove tank and empty any remaining water.
  2. Clean tank with mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Clean base reservoir with vinegar solution (1 part white vinegar to 2 parts water) to dissolve mineral deposits. Scrub with soft brush.
  4. Rinse all parts with clean water and air dry completely before reassembly.

CAUTION! Never immerse motor unit in water. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or detergents.

Filter Replacement

Replace wicking filter every 1-3 months, depending on water hardness and usage.

  1. Unplug unit and remove tank.
  2. Remove old filter from slot in base. Discard properly.
  3. Insert new filter (Honeywell Part #HCM-710F) into slot. Ensure it is fully seated.
  4. Reassemble tank and base. Plug in and operate.

Note: A clogged or old filter reduces mist output and efficiency. Using distilled water can extend filter life.

Safety Features

Automatic Shut-Off: Turns off when water tank is empty or removed. Overheat Protection: Built-in thermal fuse prevents motor overheating. Tip-Over Protection: Some models may include shut-off if unit is tipped. Always operate on a flat, stable surface.
