Specifications

Controls and Operation

Primary control is the humidistat knob on the base unit.

Knob Positions: Turn fully counterclockwise to OFF. Turn clockwise to increase mist output. The further clockwise, the higher the humidity output.

Indicator Light: The refill light (usually blue or green) illuminates when the water tank is empty or nearly empty. It turns off when the tank is refilled and properly seated.

Automatic Shut-Off: The unit will automatically power off when the tank is empty to protect the motor.

Mist Outlet: Can be rotated to direct cool mist where needed.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold and mineral buildup. Unplug before cleaning.

  1. Daily: Wipe exterior with a damp cloth.
  2. Weekly: Empty any remaining water. Clean tank and base with a mixture of mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Monthly/As needed: Descale using a solution of 1 cup white vinegar and 1 gallon water. Let sit for 20 minutes, scrub, then rinse multiple times to remove vinegar smell.
  4. Dry all parts completely before reassembly.

Tip: Use distilled or demineralized water to reduce white dust and cleaning frequency.

Water Tank Refilling

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Lift the water tank off the base by the handle.
  3. Turn tank upside down and unscrew the cap.
  4. Fill with cool, clean tap, distilled, or demineralized water up to the fill line.
  5. Securely replace the cap.
  6. Place tank back onto base, ensuring it is seated correctly.
  7. Plug in unit. The refill light should turn off.

WARNING! Do not overfill. Do not immerse base unit in water. Always refill over a sink.

Filter Information

Some HCM-750 models may include or recommend a demineralization cartridge (filter).

Purpose: Reduces white mineral dust (calcium, lime) emitted in the mist.

Replacement: If your model uses a cartridge, replace it every 30-60 days or as indicated by reduced performance or visible scaling.

Installation: Follow instructions included with the cartridge. Typically placed inside the tank or base.

Note: Using distilled water may extend filter life or eliminate the need for one.

Care & Storage

When not in use for extended periods:

  1. Unplug unit.
  2. Empty and thoroughly clean all parts (tank, base).
  3. Allow all parts to dry completely.
  4. Reassemble and store in original box or a dry place.
  5. Do not store with water in the tank.

CAUTION! Never store while wet, as this promotes mold and mildew growth.
