Controls and Settings

The humidifier features simple, intuitive controls located on the front of the base unit.

Humidity Control Dial: Rotate clockwise to increase mist output (HIGH) and counter-clockwise to decrease (LOW). Setting it to the minimum position turns the unit off.

Power Indicator Light: A small LED illuminates when the unit is plugged in and operational. It does not indicate water level.

Automatic Shut-Off: Built-in float switch turns the unit off when the water tank is empty to protect the motor.

Filter Change Reminder: It is recommended to replace the wick filter every 1-2 months depending on water hardness and usage. No electronic indicator is present; track manually.

Operation Guide

For daily use and optimal performance.

  1. Daily Fill: Check water level each day. Refill tank as needed.
  2. Adjusting Output: Use the dial to match your comfort level and room humidity. Lower settings are quieter.
  3. Moving the Unit: Always turn dial to OFF, unplug, then lift unit by the base, not the tank handle. Empty tank before moving.
  4. Night Use: The quiet operation makes it ideal for bedrooms. The automatic shut-off provides safety.

Tip: Use a hygrometer to monitor room humidity. Ideal indoor humidity is between 30% and 50%.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold, bacteria, and mineral buildup.

  1. Daily: Refill with fresh, cool water.
  2. Weekly: Clean the tank and base.
    • Unplug unit.
    • Remove tank and empty any remaining water.
    • Clean tank interior with a soft brush and a mixture of mild dish soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly.
    • Wipe the base exterior with a damp cloth. Do not submerge base in water.
  3. Monthly/As Needed: Deep clean to remove scale.
    • Use a solution of 1 cup white vinegar and 1 gallon water. Fill tank halfway, swish, and let sit for 20 minutes. Scrub if needed, then rinse multiple times until vinegar smell is gone.
    • Clean the base's water reservoir area with a vinegar-dampened cloth.

CAUTION! Always unplug before cleaning. Never use abrasive cleaners, bleach, or harsh chemicals. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and using.

Filter Replacement

The wick filter is essential for operation and air quality.

  1. Frequency: Replace every 1-2 months, or when it appears gray/brown, hard, or crusted with minerals.
  2. Procedure:
    • Unplug unit and remove water tank.
    • Lift out the old wick filter from the base.
    • Soak the new filter in cool water for 15-20 minutes.
    • Insert the damp filter into the base, ensuring it sits flat.
    • Reassemble tank and base.
  3. Demineralization Cartridge: If used, replace per manufacturer's instructions (typically every 30-60 days).

Note: Use only genuine Honeywell replacement filters (Model HC-14) for optimal performance and safety.
