Installation Instructions

Unpack all components and verify contents. Ensure furnace is off before beginning.

  1. Select location: Mount on return air duct (recommended) or supply plenum. Use template to mark cutout.
  2. Cut opening: Cut 10" x 14" opening in ductwork per template.
  3. Mount cabinet: Secure humidifier to duct with provided screws. Ensure level.
  4. Install bypass duct: Connect flexible duct between humidifier and supply plenum.
  5. Water connection: Install saddle valve on cold water line. Connect 1/4" tubing to humidifier solenoid valve.
  6. Drain connection: Attach 3/4" drain hose to humidifier drain port. Route to floor drain.
  7. Electrical: Connect 24V wires from humidistat to furnace transformer and humidifier solenoid.

WARNING! Turn off furnace power and water supply before installation. Follow local plumbing and electrical codes.

First-Time Setup & Operation

After installation, restore power and water supply.

  1. Set humidistat: Turn dial to desired humidity level (typically 35-45% for winter).
  2. Test operation: Turn furnace thermostat to call for heat. Humidifier should activate when blower runs.
  3. Check water flow: Verify water flows into drain during operation (bleed function).
  4. Adjust settings: Use digital control to set relative humidity, fan delay, and diagnostic mode.

CAUTION! Do not set humidity too high to prevent condensation on windows. Adjust based on outdoor temperature.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Digital Humidistat Control: Mount on return duct or wall in living area.

Controls: Power button, Up/Down buttons, Menu button, Display (shows humidity setpoint and actual).

Settings Menu: Relative Humidity Setpoint (20-60%), Fan Delay (adjusts humidifier run time after blower stops), Diagnostic Mode (checks system operation), Reset (resets control to defaults).

Operation Modes: Automatic (uses outdoor temperature sensor if connected to adjust humidity), Manual (fixed setpoint), Off (humidifier disabled).

Connecting to HVAC System

Bypass Installation: Requires connection to both return and supply ducts.

  1. Ensure furnace blower creates negative pressure at humidifier location.
  2. Connect bypass duct from humidifier to supply plenum downstream from heat exchanger.
  3. Install humidistat control on return duct or nearby wall.
  4. Wire per diagram: 24V from furnace transformer to humidistat, then to solenoid valve.

Tip: For optimal performance, install on return duct where air is driest. Ensure bypass duct slopes downward toward humidifier.

Maintenance & Water Panel Replacement

Replace water panel evaporator at least once per season or when mineralized.

  1. Turn off water supply and furnace power.
  2. Remove front cover by releasing latches.
  3. Slide out old water panel and discard.
  4. Insert new panel with arrow pointing up.
  5. Replace cover and restore power/water.
  6. Check drain line for clogs monthly during season.

WARNING! Always turn off power and water before servicing. Do not operate without water panel installed.

Digital Control Operation

Digital display shows set humidity and actual room humidity (if equipped with sensor).

To adjust: Press Menu, use arrows to select setting, press Menu to save. Fan Delay: Set 5-30 seconds for water to drain after blower stops. Diagnostic: Runs test cycle to verify solenoid, water flow, and drain.

Care & Cleaning

Annual cleaning: At end of season, turn off water supply, let unit drain completely. Remove scale from drain orifice with vinegar solution if needed. Clean cabinet exterior with damp cloth.

CAUTION! Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives. Never immerse control in water.
