Controls and Operation

Power is controlled by plugging into outlet. Operation is controlled via the humidistat dial.

Control Dial: Turn clockwise to increase mist output and humidity level. Turn counter-clockwise to decrease. The unit will run until the desired humidity level is reached or the tank is empty.

Indicator Light: Blue LED illuminates when unit is powered and operating. Blinks if tank is empty or improperly seated.

Automatic Shut-Off: Activates when tank is empty or removed, indicated by blinking light.

Filling the Water Tank

  1. Turn dial to OFF (fully counter-clockwise) and unplug unit.
  2. Lift tank off base using carry handle.
  3. Turn tank upside down and unscrew cap on bottom.
  4. Fill with cool, clean tap or distilled water (distilled reduces mineral buildup).
  5. Replace cap securely and tighten.
  6. Wipe any spilled water from tank exterior.
  7. Place tank back onto base, ensuring it clicks into place.
  8. Plug in unit and adjust dial to desired setting.

Tip: Use distilled water to extend filter life and reduce white dust.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning prevents mold, bacteria, and mineral buildup.

  1. Daily: Wipe exterior with damp cloth.
  2. Weekly: Empty any remaining water. Clean tank and base with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Monthly/As Needed: Descale tank and base using white vinegar solution (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water). Soak for 20 minutes, scrub, rinse well.
  4. Always unplug unit and empty water before cleaning.
  5. Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly.

CAUTION! Never immerse motor base in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals.

Replacing the Filter

The wick filter should be replaced every 1-3 months, or when visibly discolored or hardened.

  1. Unplug unit and remove water tank.
  2. Lift out old filter from its slot in the base.
  3. Insert new filter (Honeywell part #HRF-3) into slot.
  4. Ensure filter is seated flat and fully.
  5. Reassemble tank and base.
  6. Run unit for a few minutes to allow filter to absorb water.

Note: Using the unit without a filter or with a damaged filter may cause malfunction.

Safety Features

Automatic Shut-Off: Turns off unit when water tank is empty or removed to prevent motor damage.

Tip-Over Protection: Internal switch stops operation if unit is tilted or knocked over.

Over-Humidity Prevention: Adjustable humidistat helps maintain optimal humidity levels (30-50% recommended).

When not in use for extended periods:

  1. Unplug unit.
  2. Empty and thoroughly clean tank and base (see Section 7).
  3. Remove and discard old filter. Do not store with wet filter.
  4. Allow all parts to dry completely.
