Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect all parts. Place on a flat, stable, waterproof surface away from electronics.

  1. Remove tank: Lift tank off the base.
  2. Install filter: Remove filter from packaging and insert into the filter frame in the base.
  3. Fill tank: Unscrew cap, fill with cool, clean water (do not use hot water). Replace cap securely.
  4. Reassemble: Place tank back onto base, ensuring it sits firmly.
  5. Plug in: Connect power cord to a standard 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Place humidifier on a level surface to prevent leakage. Keep away from walls and furniture.

First-Time Use

After setup, power on the unit and adjust settings.

  1. Power on: Plug in unit; the power indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Set humidity level: Turn the control dial to desired mist output (LOW to HIGH).
  3. Direct mist: Adjust the mist outlet grille to direct moisture away from walls.
  4. Night light: Press the NIGHT LIGHT button to turn the optional light on/off.
  5. Monitor: Allow 15-30 minutes to feel humidity increase in the room.

CAUTION! Use only clean, cool water. Do not add essential oils or chemicals to the water tank.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold and mineral buildup. Unplug before cleaning.

  1. Daily: Empty any unused water from the tank and base.
  2. Weekly Cleaning: Disassemble tank and base. Clean all surfaces with a soft cloth and a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1 ratio). Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Dry: Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembly.
  4. Descaling: For hard water areas, use vinegar solution to remove mineral deposits from the tank and base.

Tip: Never immerse the motor base in water. Clean only with a damp cloth.

Filter Replacement

The wicking filter should be replaced every 1-2 months, or when discolored or clogged.

  1. Unplug the humidifier and remove the water tank.
  2. Remove the old filter from the filter frame in the base.
  3. Insert a new HUL520FILTER into the frame. Ensure it is seated properly.
  4. Reassemble the tank and base.
  5. Run the humidifier for 15 minutes on high to prime the new filter.

WARNING! Do not operate the humidifier without a filter installed. Use only genuine Honeywell replacement filters.

Safety Features

Automatic Shut-Off: Turns off the unit when the water tank is empty to prevent damage. Tip-Over Protection: Internal mechanism reduces operation if unit is tilted. Overheat Protection: Motor includes a thermal fuse to prevent overheating.

Care & Storage

When not in use for extended periods, prepare the unit for storage.

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Empty and thoroughly clean the tank and base as per weekly instructions.
  3. Remove and discard the old filter.
  4. Allow all parts to dry completely.
  5. Reassemble without a filter and store in original box in a cool, dry place.
