Operation Guide

Daily operation and best practices for optimal performance.

  1. Check the water level daily. Refill when the Red Refill light illuminates.
  2. To refill: Turn unit off, remove tank, fill with cool water, replace tank.
  3. Adjust the Humidity Control based on season and comfort (40-50% is typical).
  4. Clean the tank and base weekly to prevent mineral buildup and microbial growth.
  5. Replace the wick filter every 1-2 months, or when it appears discolored or stiff.

Tip: Use distilled or demineralized water to reduce white dust and extend filter life.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning is essential for performance and hygiene. Unplug the unit before any maintenance.

  1. Weekly Cleaning: Empty any remaining water. Clean the tank and base with a mixture of mild dish soap and warm water. Use a soft brush for the tank interior. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Descaling (Monthly): To remove mineral deposits, use a solution of 1 cup white vinegar and 1 gallon water. Let solution sit in tank for 20 minutes, then scrub and rinse.
  3. Drying: Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling and storing.

WARNING! Never immerse the power base in water. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or bleach.

Filter Replacement

The wick filter should be replaced every 1-2 months for optimal mist output and air quality.

  1. Turn off and unplug the humidifier.
  2. Remove the water tank.
  3. Lift out the old wick filter from the base.
  4. Insert the new filter, ensuring it is seated flat in the frame.
  5. Reassemble the tank and base. The new filter does not require pre-soaking.

Note: Use only genuine Honeywell HWM-2000 replacement filters (Part # HF-200).
