Controls and Settings

Primary control is the Humidity Control Dial on the front of the base.

Control Dial: Rotate clockwise from OFF to LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH mist output. Setting depends on room dryness and desired comfort level.

Refill Indicator Light: LED on front panel. Illuminates RED when water tank is empty or nearly empty. Turns off when tank is refilled and properly seated.

Auto Shut-Off: Built-in safety feature. Unit will power off automatically when tank is empty or if tank is removed while unit is running.

Operation Guide

For daily use, follow these guidelines.

  1. Fill tank daily: Use cool tap water only. Do not overfill beyond MAX line.
  2. Set mist level: Adjust dial based on room conditions. Start on MEDIUM and adjust after a few hours.
  3. Monitor humidity: Ideal indoor humidity is 30-50%. Use a hygrometer if available.
  4. Refill when light comes on: Unplug unit, remove tank, refill, replace tank, and plug back in.
  5. Night use: LOW setting is recommended for quiet operation in bedrooms.

Tip: Place humidifier on a towel or waterproof tray to protect furniture from accidental moisture.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold and mineral buildup. Clean every 1-2 weeks during use.

  1. Unplug unit and remove tank.
  2. Empty any remaining water from base.
  3. Clean tank: Use mild dish soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly. Do not submerge base in water.
  4. Clean base: Wipe interior with a soft cloth dampened with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1) to remove scale. Rinse with clean water.
  5. Dry completely: Allow all parts to air dry before reassembling.
  6. Reinstall wick filter if still usable (replace every 1-2 months).

WARNING! Never use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or detergents. Do not immerse motor base in water.

Filter Replacement

The wick filter should be replaced every 1-2 months or when visibly discolored or hardened.

  1. Turn off and unplug humidifier.
  2. Remove water tank and empty base.
  3. Remove old filter: Pull straight up from the base slot.
  4. Prepare new filter: Soak new HWF-4040 filter in cool water for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Insert new filter: Place into slot, ensuring it sits flat against the base.
  6. Reassemble tank and base, then refill with water.

Note: Using the unit without a filter or with a dirty filter reduces performance and may damage the unit.

Care & Storage

When not in use for extended periods, prepare unit for storage.

  1. Unplug and empty all water from tank and base.
  2. Clean thoroughly as per cleaning instructions.
  3. Remove and discard old wick filter.
  4. Allow all parts to dry completely for 24-48 hours.
  5. Reassemble without filter and store in original box or a dry place.
  6. Do not store with water in tank or base.

CAUTION! Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
