Specifications

Controls and Operation

Control Panel located on the front of the base unit.

Main Controls: Humidity Control Dial (turns unit On/Off and adjusts mist output), Refill Indicator Light (red), Filter Change Indicator Light (amber).

Operation: Turn dial clockwise from "OFF" to "LOW", "MEDIUM", or "HIGH". The further the dial is turned, the higher the mist output and humidity level. Adjust the Mist Nozzle as needed. The Refill Indicator Light will illuminate red when the water tank is nearly empty, signaling it is time to refill.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold and mineral buildup. Clean every 1-2 weeks during use.

  1. Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet.
  2. Remove the water tank and empty any remaining water.
  3. Separate the tank from the base.
  4. Clean the tank: Fill with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and 1 gallon of water. Swirl and scrub interior with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  5. Clean the base: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not submerge the base in water.
  6. Clean the mist nozzle with a cotton swab if clogged.
  7. Allow all parts to air dry completely before reassembling.

Tip: Use only vinegar or manufacturer-recommended cleaning solutions. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals.

Filter Replacement

The Wick Filter should be replaced every 1-2 months, or when visibly discolored or mineralized, or when the Filter Change Indicator Light illuminates.

  1. Unplug the unit and remove the water tank.
  2. Remove the old wick filter from the filter frame in the base.
  3. Soak the new HWF-4040 filter in cool water for 15 minutes.
  4. Insert the new, soaked filter into the frame, ensuring it is seated flat.
  5. Press the "Filter Reset" button (if present) next to the indicator light to turn off the reminder.
  6. Reassemble the tank and base.

WARNING! Never operate the humidifier without a filter installed. This can cause over-humidification and damage the unit.

Safety Features

Automatic Shut-Off: Turns the unit off when the water tank is empty, preventing damage to the motor. Tip-Over Protection: Internal switch stops operation if unit is knocked over. Over-Humidification Prevention: Wick filter system helps regulate output.

Care & Storage

When not in use for an extended period (e.g., summer months), prepare the unit for storage.

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Empty and thoroughly clean the tank and base as described in Section 7.
  3. Remove and discard the used wick filter.
  4. Allow all parts to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
  5. Reassemble the unit without a filter and store in the original box in a cool, dry place.

CAUTION! Do not store with water in the tank or with a wet filter, as this can promote mold growth.
