Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning is essential for performance and to prevent microbial growth.

Daily/Weekly: Wipe exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Check and clean the mist nozzle if clogged.

Cleaning the Tank and Base (Every 1-2 Weeks):

  1. Unplug unit. Remove tank and pour out any remaining water.
  2. Fill tank with 1 cup of white vinegar and the rest with clean water. Let sit for 20 minutes.
  3. Scrub interior with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  4. Clean the base reservoir with a vinegar/water solution. Use a cloth or brush to remove film or scale.
  5. Rinse all parts thoroughly until vinegar smell is gone. Air dry completely before reassembly.

CAUTION! Never immerse the power base, control panel, or motor in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, bleach, or detergents not recommended by the manufacturer.

Filter Replacement

The wick filter should be replaced every 1-2 months, or more often in hard water conditions or with continuous use.

  1. Unplug humidifier and remove water tank.
  2. Lift out the old wick filter from the base frame. Discard it.
  3. Insert the new Honeywell HWM845FILTER into the frame. Ensure it is fully seated and straight.
  4. Soak the new filter in the base with clean water for 15-20 minutes before first use.
  5. Reinstall tank, plug in, and power on. Reset the filter indicator if your model has one (usually by holding the POWER button for 5 seconds).

Note: A dirty or clogged filter reduces mist output and efficiency. Always use genuine Honeywell replacement filters.
