Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning prevents mold and mineral buildup.

  1. Weekly: Empty, rinse, and refill the water tank with fresh water.
  2. Bi-Weekly: Clean the base unit: Unplug, remove tank and wick. Wipe interior with a soft cloth dampened with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:1). Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Monthly: Deep clean all parts. Soak wick filter in vinegar solution if scaled, then rinse (see Wick Replacement section).
  4. Dry all parts completely before reassembly.

CAUTION! Unplug before cleaning. Never immerse the base unit in water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives.

Wick Filter Replacement

The wick filter should be replaced every 1-2 months during use, or when visibly scaled or damaged.

  1. Unplug the humidifier and remove the water tank.
  2. Remove the old wick filter by pulling it up and out of the base slots.
  3. Dispose of the old filter properly.
  4. Unpack the new wick filter (Honeywell part # HC-22).
  5. Insert the new wick filter into the base slots, ensuring it is seated firmly and evenly.
  6. Replace the water tank and plug in the unit.

Note: Using a dirty or clogged wick reduces efficiency and output. Use only genuine Honeywell replacement filters.

Safety Features

Automatic Shut-Off: Turns the unit off when the water tank is empty or improperly seated to prevent dry running and motor damage.

Tip-Over Protection: Internal switch cuts power if the unit is tipped over.

Refill Indicator: Red light alerts you when the tank needs refilling.
