Installation

Unpack and inspect all parts. Ensure installation location is near furnace, on a stable wall, and with access to water and drain lines.

  1. Mount the unit: Use bracket to secure humidifier vertically on wall near furnace.
  2. Connect water supply: Attach 1/4" copper tubing from cold water line to unit inlet.
  3. Connect drain line: Attach hose from drain valve to suitable drain or floor drain.
  4. Connect steam hose: Attach to steam outlet and route to supply duct (6" minimum from furnace).
  5. Wire to furnace: Connect control wires to furnace fan and 24V transformer (follow wiring diagram).
  6. Install humidistat: Mount on interior wall away from moisture sources and connect wires.
  7. Plug into 120V outlet.

WARNING! Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician. Ensure power is off during installation. Follow all local plumbing and electrical codes.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the unit and configure settings.

  1. Set humidistat: Adjust to desired humidity level (typically 35-45% for most homes).
  2. Test operation: Turn furnace fan on; unit should begin producing steam when humidity is below set point.
  3. Check for leaks: Inspect all water and steam connections.
  4. Perform initial drain flush: Open drain valve for 30 seconds to clear any debris.

CAUTION! Do not touch steam hose during operation—it becomes hot. Keep children and pets away from unit.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Primary control is via the wall-mounted humidistat. Unit has onboard LED indicators for status.

Humidistat: Rotate dial to set desired relative humidity (OFF, 15% to 45%+).

LED Indicators (on unit):

Drain Valve: Manual lever to open for flushing minerals.

Settings: No user-adjustable settings beyond humidistat; internal controls are pre-set.

Connecting to HVAC System

Unit must be integrated with forced-air furnace system.

  1. Steam injection point: Install steam hose into supply duct ≥6" downstream from furnace heat exchanger.
  2. Control wiring: Connect humidistat and unit to furnace fan control to ensure fan runs during humidification.
  3. Water supply: Tap into cold water line with saddle valve or tee fitting.
  4. Drain: Route drain hose to floor drain or condensate pump.

Tip: Ensure steam hose is sloped downward toward duct to prevent condensation pooling.

Operation and Usage

Unit operates automatically based on humidistat setting and furnace fan operation.

  1. Normal operation: When furnace fan runs and humidity is below set point, unit heats water to produce steam.
  2. Steam output: Steam is carried via hose into ductwork, where it mixes with warm air and distributes throughout home.
  3. Cycle duration: Unit runs until humidity reaches set point or furnace fan stops.
  4. Drain flush: Recommended weekly; open drain valve for 30 seconds while unit is operating to flush minerals.
  5. Off-season: In summer, turn humidistat to OFF and consider shutting water supply valve.

WARNING! Never operate without water supply connected. Do not bypass safety controls.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures efficient operation and longevity.

CAUTION! Always disconnect power before servicing. Allow unit to cool before touching internal parts.
