Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure unit is installed by a qualified technician.

  1. Choose location: Install near HVAC system, on a level surface, with access to water, drain, and power.
  2. Mount unit: Use provided brackets to secure to wall or floor near furnace/air handler.
  3. Connect water supply: Attach 1/4" tubing to water inlet valve and cold water line.
  4. Connect drain: Attach drain tubing to drain valve and route to suitable drain.
  5. Connect to HVAC: Install steam distribution tube into ductwork (supply plenum recommended).
  6. Electrical connection: Connect to dedicated 240V AC, 30-amp circuit with proper grounding.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock and scalding. Disconnect power before installation. Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free.

First-Time Setup

After installation, power on the unit and configure settings.

  1. Power on: Turn on main power switch and control panel.
  2. Set desired humidity: Use humidistat to select target humidity (recommended 35-45%).
  3. Configure control panel: Set current time, date, and system mode (Auto or Manual).
  4. Run initial cycle: The unit will fill with water and begin steam generation; check for leaks.
  5. Calibrate humidistat: Compare with a separate hygrometer and adjust if necessary.

CAUTION! Do not touch steam distribution tube during operation; it becomes hot. Ensure drain line is not blocked.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access settings via Digital Control Panel. Buttons: POWER, MENU, UP/DOWN arrows, ENTER, BACK.

Display Indicators: Current Humidity, Set Humidity, Error Codes, System Status (Standby, Heating, Cleaning).

Menu Options: Humidity Set Point, System Mode (Auto/Manual), Fan Mode (Continuous/Intermittent), Self-Cleaning Interval, Date/Time, Factory Reset. Advanced Settings: Outdoor Temperature Sensor (if connected), Maximum Humidity Limit, Minimum Fan Speed.

Connecting to HVAC System

Steam Distribution: Tube must be installed into supply plenum or duct. Control Wiring: Connect to furnace/air handler for fan activation.

  1. Turn off HVAC system and humidifier power.
  2. Install steam distribution tube: Drill 1" hole in supply plenum, insert tube, and secure with clamp.
  3. Connect control wires: Use low-voltage wires (typically 2-wire) to connect humidifier to HVAC fan control or thermostat.
  4. Secure all tubing and wires away from heat sources.

Tip: Ensure steam tube is angled slightly downward to prevent condensation pooling.

Operation and Maintenance

Unit operates automatically based on humidistat setting and outdoor temperature (if sensor installed).

  1. Normal Operation: In AUTO mode, unit activates when HVAC fan runs and humidity is below set point.
  2. Steam Cylinder Replacement: When "Replace Cylinder" indicator lights, turn off power, drain unit, remove old cylinder, install new one.
  3. Self-Cleaning Cycle: Runs automatically every 12-24 hours of operation to remove mineral scale.
  4. Drain Flush: Periodically open drain valve for 30 seconds to flush out sediment.
  5. Filter: Inspect and clean inlet water filter every 6 months.
  6. Seasonal Shutdown: For summer, turn off power and water supply; drain unit completely.

WARNING! Always disconnect power before servicing. Allow unit to cool before touching internal components.

Error Codes and Diagnostics

Control panel displays error codes for troubleshooting.

CodeMeaningAction
E1Low Water FlowCheck water supply valve and inlet filter; ensure pressure >20 psi.
E2High Water TemperatureCheck that cold water line is connected; allow to cool.
E3Steam Cylinder FaultReplace steam cylinder; check electrical connections.
E4Drain BlockageClear drain line; ensure proper slope.
E5OverheatingCheck for restricted airflow around unit; clean vents.
E6Sensor FaultCheck humidistat or outdoor sensor connection.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power and water before cleaning. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth. Interior: Follow self-cleaning cycle; for heavy scale, use approved descaling solution per manual.

CAUTION! Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives. Never immerse unit in water.
