Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper location near HVAC system.

  1. Mount steam generator: Use included bracket to mount on wall near ductwork.
  2. Connect to duct: Install steam distribution tube into supply duct.
  3. Connect water supply: Attach water line to cold water pipe with saddle valve.
  4. Connect drain hose: Route to suitable drain location.
  5. Connect power: Plug into dedicated 120V outlet.
  6. Connect control wires: Link humidistat to generator and HVAC controls.

WARNING! Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician. Ensure power is off during installation.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; follow control panel prompts.

  1. Set desired humidity: Use +/- buttons to set target humidity (30-60% recommended).
  2. Select operation mode: Choose AUTO for automatic control based on outdoor temperature.
  3. Calibrate humidistat: Follow on-screen calibration procedure if needed.
  4. Test operation: Initiate test cycle to verify steam production and drainage.

CAUTION! Ensure water supply valve is fully open and drain line is unobstructed.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access settings via control panel touch buttons. Front Panel: POWER, MODE, SETTINGS, +/-, MENU.

Remote Humidistat: POWER, Humidity Setpoint, Fan Control, System Status LED.

Humidity Control: Set target humidity (30-60%), outdoor temperature compensation. Operation Modes: AUTO (automatic based on temperature), MANUAL (constant output), BOOST (maximum output for 24 hours). Timer: Program daily operation schedule. Maintenance Alerts: Display reminders for descaling and filter check.

Connecting to HVAC System

Compatible with most forced-air systems. Requires connection to furnace control board.

  1. Turn off power to HVAC system.
  2. Connect control wires: Link humidifier to HVAC fan and heat call terminals.
  3. Install steam distribution tube: Insert into supply duct downstream from heat source.
  4. Connect drain: Route condensate to floor drain or condensate pump.

Tip: Refer to HVAC system manual for proper terminal identification.

Operation Modes

Three primary modes for different needs.

  1. AUTO Mode: Automatically adjusts humidity based on outdoor temperature to prevent window condensation.
  2. MANUAL Mode: Maintains constant humidity level regardless of outdoor conditions.
  3. BOOST Mode: Runs at maximum capacity for 24 hours, then returns to previous mode.
  4. Test Mode: Initiates a 5-minute cycle to verify system operation.
  5. Vacation Mode: Reduces operation while away; maintains minimum humidity.

WARNING! Do not set humidity too high in cold weather to prevent condensation on windows.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Monthly: Check drain hose for clogs; clean if necessary.
  2. Quarterly: Inspect water line for leaks; clean inlet screen.
  3. Annually: Descale steam generator using approved cleaning solution.
  4. As needed: Replace humidifier filter (if equipped).

CAUTION! Always disconnect power before performing maintenance. Use only Honeywell-approved cleaning solutions.
